Zorin OS 16 Lite is a simplified version of the full version (based on GNOME Shell) of Zorin OS 16. It is still based on Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS and Linux Kernel 5.11.
Zorin OS 16 Lite will be supported by software updates and security patches until April 2025.
The new look Zorin OS 16 Lite introduces a new and more refined default theme from Zorin OS 16, bringing detailed touches and pleasant animations to the entire system, enhancing the user experience.

The new taskbar with window preview Zorin OS 16 Lite rewrites the taskbar. Now when hovering the mouse over an application icon, it will display a window preview, allowing you to have a better overview of the workflow.
Desktop layout Two new desktop layouts are introduced in Zorin OS 16 Lite. Similar to Chrome OS and Windows Classic.
The desktop environment similar to Chrome OS has a centered icon taskbar design and a brand new full-screen application grid menu. This is a good choice for users who are more familiar with devices such as smartphones and tablets.
The desktop layout similar to Windows Classic uses a traditional list-type taskbar and simple application menu, which is designed to make the old computer users feel familiar.
The redesigned Zorin AppearanceZorin OS 16 Lite now includes the new Zorin Appearance from Zorin OS 16, which is designed to be easier to use and navigate. Zorin Appearance allows you to choose different desktop layouts, change applications and icon themes, choose your desktop fonts, and adjust other parts of your desktop.
Enable Flathub In the Zorin OS 16 Lite software store, in addition to the Snap store and Ubuntu & Zorin OS APT software library, Flathub is now pre-installed. So now you can install more applications in Zorin OS 16 Lite.
The user interface of the built-in software store has also been improved to make it easier to find and install applications from different sources.
