The situation on Seagate’s side is not second. Its high-end NAS-positioned IronWolf Pro 20TB hard drive only has a data write volume of 300TB/year. Toshiba is even worse in this regard. The data write volume of the N300 series is 180TB/year. For three-year warranty, Seagate and Western Digital have a 5-year warranty.
These large-capacity HDD hard drives that are positioned in high-end NAS applications have only 180TB to 300TB of data written, which is obviously not good for NAS that require 7x24 work. You must know that their enterprise-class hard drives are still maintained at 500TB/year At the level of MTBF, the life between failures is also 2.5 million hours instead of the current 1 million hours.
STH believes that these ultra-large-capacity HDD hard drives, even if they are positioned so high, are actually declining in data life, closer to the level of consumer-grade QLC flash SSDs.

按理说，Red Pro系列硬盘的可靠性会很高，然而20TB的额定工作负载数据量也只有300TB，容量小一些的其他红盘系列甚至只有180TB。
希捷这边的情况也不秒，其高端NAS定位的IronWolf Pro 20TB硬盘也只有300TB/年的数据写入量，东芝在这方面更差，N300系列的数据写入量是180TB/年，它还是三年质保的，希捷、西数好歹是5年质保。
这些容量很大而且定位在高端NAS应用中的HDD硬盘数据写入量只有180TB到300TB了，对于需要7x24工作的NAS来说显然不太好，要知道它们企业级的硬盘依然维持在500TB/年的水平上，MTBF无故障间隔寿命也是250万小时而非现在的100万小时。
STH认为，这些超大容量的HDD硬盘，哪怕是定位这么高了，数据寿命其实是在下滑的，更接近消费级QLC闪存SSD的水平。
