The AM5 interface will be packaged in LGA, replacing pins with contacts. The density of contacts is much greater than that of pins, which can meet the needs of DDR5 and PCIE 5.0. Since its release in 2016, the life cycle of the AM4 interface is as high as 6 years. Su Zifeng said that the AM5 interface will exist for a long time like the AM4. The release time of the Ryzen 7000 series has not yet been determined, but it must be within this year. The positioning of the Ryzen 6000 series is close to that of the 11th-generation Core. 在接受采访时，AMD ECO苏姿丰确认，锐龙7000系列才会更换为AM5接口，AM5接口会像AM4接口一样长寿，而且使用AM5接口的锐龙处理器、主板，仍可以兼容现款散热器。
AMD长期不换接口，用户升级CPU时，与CPU相配套的主板、散热器都不需要更换，可以省下不少钱。锐龙5000系列开售之时就有不少厂商对300系列主板进行了BIOS升级，让它们可以支持锐龙5000系列。当然，想要发挥新CPU的所有性能，还是需要新主板。
不过AM4接口采用的是PGA封装，主板上有插槽，CPU有针脚，这种设计能够提高CPU的稳定性和高负载情况下的表现，但耗电量比较高，而且拔插时针脚很容易碰歪。在CPU能耗比越来越高的今天，PGA封装的优势已经不明显，消费者更期待AMD早日推出LGA封装的接口。
AM5接口将选择LGA封装，用触点取代针脚，触点的密度远大于针脚，能够满足DDR5、PCIE 5.0的需求。在更换CPU时，也不用担心会伤到CPU的针脚，如果打算把CPU、主板卖了回血，也能卖一个好价钱。
2016年发布至今，AM4接口的生命周期高达6年，苏姿丰表示AM5接口会像AM4一样长期存在，未来几年的AMD CPU将使用相同的接口，AMD用户更换CPU的成本将大幅降低，这种方案或许可以吸引不少用户选择AMD。
锐龙7000系列的发布时间暂未确定，但肯定是在今年内，锐龙6000系列的定位与11代酷睿接近，只能算是过渡产品，年内发布的锐龙7000系列，才是AMD的大招。至于到底是买锐龙6000系列好，还是继续等待锐龙7000系列，小雷认为，CPU确实有性能过剩的情况，如果有需要，现在买就行了，没必要等待下一代锐龙。
