从零到一:手头某YouTube 项目的实践报告 (项目观察者)

项目简介

大约在3个月前从零开始创建了一个YouTube频道。今天登陆后台,终于看到订阅人数超过1000,达成了 YouTube获利的最低门槛:1000订阅用户,4000小时播放时长。

 

由于这个项目使用的是全新注册的Google账号,尚未开通Adsense功能。当前账号需要申请开通 Adsense 后才能获取 YouTube 广告收益。

接下来两天我会先找一个平信代收的服务商,然后申请 Adsense账号,接着申请开通YouTube收益功能,就可以坐等每日广告收益进账了。

As this project uses a newly registered Google account, the Adsense function has not yet been activated. The current account needs to apply for Adsense to get YouTube advertising revenue.
In the next two days, I will first find a service provider who collects by ordinary mail, then apply for an Adsense account, and then apply to activate the YouTube revenue function, and then I can wait for the daily advertising revenue to be credited.
Project analysis to check the data growth situation, you can see that most of the cumulative data comes from the most recent month. The channel’s accumulated 100,000 hours of broadcast time, 610,000 views, 1,000+ subscribers and other data all conform to this model.
It can be seen that the traffic distribution and user precipitation on YouTube are very different from short video platforms such as Douyin. Simply put, YouTube is similar to Google. Your website or channel will get more and more system recommendations as time accumulates and content deposits, and there will be more and more exposure opportunities and traffic introduction.
In other words, you can see a clear cumulative effect of time.
Currently, the channel has about 40,000 broadcasts per day. If estimated by the potential revenue of $1 for thousands of broadcasts, the revenue is only about $40/day. However, in view of the following three points, the performance of this channel is still worth looking forward to: the broadcast volume data is still in a stage of continuous upward growth, and the existing content publishing mechanism remains unchanged. In the future, the daily broadcast volume is likely to further increase to 100,000, or even higher. Correspondingly, the daily advertising revenue is likely to gradually increase to about $100/day.
At present, all video production, upload, and release are performed automatically by programs, and there are basically no program bugs to be repaired, so there is basically no need for manual intervention.
The monthly cost to invest in this automated publishing system is extremely low, probably less than $1/month.
Combining the above points, it can be understood that I spent 107 hours in the early stage to build a small system that automatically publishes content and earns US dollar advertising revenue.
Yes, I have accurately recorded the time invested in each project with Google Sheets. First, it is convenient to count the time invested by yourself, and second, you can calculate the unit time benefit of each project. This indicator is quite effective for measuring the income-generating ability of different projects.
In the future, after checking yesterday, I found out that each Google account can open up to 100 channels, and each channel is basically completely independent and does not affect each other (unless your main account is blocked, all channels will be scrapped together) ).
Next, I will consider creating a few YouTube channels under my current Google account and updating different types of content, including the "YouTube Relaxing Music Project" mentioned a few days ago, and other entertainment-related content.
Based on the data of other channels of the same type I have seen, the new channel’s broadcast volume data will be more terrifying and the revenue will be relatively higher. At the same time, in the 107 hours spent building the current channel, I have basically learned the complete technical path. The accumulation of these technologies can be reused in the establishment of other channels in the future. This can save a lot of early exploration time, so that the unit time output is greater.
Personal experience Choose those projects that have a cumulative effect of time, time will be on the side that is beneficial to you, and you can continue to obtain benefits in the subsequent time.
For example, write a book, publish an online course, build a website that can continue to attract users, develop a simple app that can meet specific user needs, and so on.
If you can figure out a way to get yourself out of the follow-up maintenance work, that is to say, try to reduce the follow-up manual investment, so much the better.

项目分析

查看数据增长情况,可以看到绝大多数数据累计都来自最近一个月。频道累计的10万小时播放时长、61万播放量、1000+订阅用户等数据,无不符合这个模式。

可见,YouTube上的流量分发和用户沉淀,和抖音这类短视频平台有着天壤之别。简单说,YouTube和Google类似,你的网站或频道,会随着时间累积、内容沉淀而获得越来越多的系统推荐,也就有越来越多的曝光机会和流量引入。

也就是说,你可以看到很明显的时间累积效应。

 

目前,频道每天大约有4万播放量,如果以千次播放$1的潜在收益估算,大约只有$40/天的收益。不过,鉴于以下三点,这个频道的表现仍值得期待:

  1. 播放量数据仍处于不断向上增长的阶段,维持现有内容发布机制不变,未来每日播放量很有可能进一步提升到10万,甚至更高。相对应的,每日广告收益很可能可以逐步增长到约$100/天。
  2. 目前所有的视频制作、上传、发布都由程序自动化执行,而且基本没有什么程序bug需要修复,所以基本不需要什么人工介入。
  3. 每月需要投入到这个自动化发布系统的成本极低,大概不到$1/月。

综合以上几点,大概可以理解为前期我花了107个小时打造了一个自动发布内容并赚取美元广告收益的小系统。

没错,我把每个项目投入的时间,都用Google Sheets精确记录了下来。一来方便统计自己投入的时长,二来可以计算每个项目的单位时间收益。这个指标对于衡量不同项目的创收能力相当之有效。

 

未来打算

昨天查了以后我才知道原来每个Google账号可以开通最多100个频道,而且每个频道之间基本是完全独立的,互相并不影响(除非你主账号被封,则所有频道一起报废)。

那么接下来,我会考虑在当前Google账号下,新建几个YouTube频道,并更新不同类型的内容,包括前些日子提到的《YouTube Relaxing 音乐项目》,以及其他娱乐相关类的内容。

以我看到的其他同类型频道的数据来推测,新频道的播放量数据会更加恐怖,收益相对也会更高。同时,在打造当前这个频道所花的107个小时中,基本摸熟了完整的技术路径,这些技术积累,完全可以复用在未来其他频道的建立上。这样就能节约大量的前期摸索时间,从而让单位时间产出更大。
